  Business class for Governing Body

  hello everyone!

  does anyone have any confirmation that the governing body uses the business class for its flights?.

  also interesting is the information about the hours that were on the hand of one of the members of the governing body..

  i resigned from the jw's in my 20's over 30 years ago, i was immediately shunned by my entire family and it's remained that way with a few exceptions ever since.

  one of those exceptions was being contacted by a cousin a few years back and during that conversation i discovered that my mother had been and still was the prime mover in my complete and continuing shunning.

  i then used what contacts i had left to confirm it.

  eyeusetobeadub, you are so right. Their research always is in depth but it is looking for a foregone conclusion, meaning they will do research to support their view.

  When did the Watchtower start the shunning?

  Personally, in my old short life, the shunning thing has grown from the Ray Franz days trying to minimalize damage. There was a Watchtower article in the early 1980's that started to tighten the screws on non-active persons. I remember couples having to rearrange their wedding parties, best men, bridesmaids, invitees etc because appointed elders sprung into compliance.

  Actually, shunning goes back to the Garden of Eden, where after Adam and Eve sinned and consequently Jehovah put Adam and Eve out of the Garden and posted Angels to guard the Garden from the shunned to returning to the Garden.

  However, Satan was able to walk into a meeting and talk about Job with Jehovah in front of all the other angels and he gave permission to persecute Job but not kill him. Satan wasn't shunned, because he wasn't considered a threat. But eventually, Satan was Demonized and supposedly is now excommunicated.

  What Does A Examination The Classic Response By The Watchtower's Responce To The News Media About Child Abuse Cover Ups : "They Abhor It" ?

  i think to the world in general it is fucking stupid but what about the every day jw?

  is that all that they can say and is this type of public statement commonly known to the r&f?

  Marking this thread. Yes, they abhor the payouts for covering over child abuse up. I'm Waiting for someone to start with the reasoning comparing WT to Sears Bankruptcy at any moment.

  It is as if they have no legitimate Bible-based "moral code" to base their decisions and the pitiful scripture they do use, "to have two witnesses to substantiate abuse" is pathetic in this situation. What happened to the Urim and the Thummim and we will just let the local law enforcement be that and find out if there is abuse or not.

  It's interesting that even when they substantiated abuse by an individuals confession that the appropriate authorities were NOT informed. In fact, in many cases, WITHIN A FEW YEARS after the incident the WTBTS would appoint the abuser as a Ministerial Servant. Yes, it is so obvious that they ABHOR child abuse, especially when someone else is charged with it like the Catholic Church.

  1) throughout the whole article jw's were being told not to believe or pass on everything they hear, but to examine the information to prove whether it was true or not.. 2) throughout the whole article jw's were being told not to listen to or look into any information or challenges which sounded negative about the org.. mind-numbed jw's will be leaving their kh's today wondering, "do i try and prove to myself and others that that what has been said is definitely a lie, (1 timothy 4:1; 1 peter 3:15;1 john 4:1) or do i totally ignore it and believe everything the org tells me is true?

  this has been mentioned in passing but it seems to deserve its own thread.. this year at the rc, no releases.

  instead they wait to drop them at the annual meeting which isnt a even simulcast event.

  Look, they have a money machine that has tax free income and a tax free "non-profit" status. They can't wait until the older ones are gone that could bring anything up that embarrasses themselves, and they don't really want anyone staying around longer than 5 years in the "Truth". They only want to keep the appearance of a religion, for the tax-free "non-profit" status so they print another book about Ezekial or some other book that could have seven sequels.
  

  They have the inheritances from old JW's, they have the real estate empire or getting volunteers to build it, keep it for 20 -60 years and sell it, rinse and rewash, they have Government assistance for some Charity work that was started by good-hearted individual brothers and they took it over because they saw they could turn a profit on others work, the circuit overseers insurance and car funds that an eight-year-old can do the math to see they are awash in profit, the assembly halls, and the reorganizing and selling the local kingdom halls. They just need to keep their cost under control and they will survive. They are beyond caring about what content they print they've been successful at changing their beliefs so many times it is still viewed with anticipation and acceptance by the majority of their followers. They have been able to serve rotten food at the wrong time for over a century and people will eat it because they have nothing else to believe in. Or as a quote from the movie "American President",

  in the montana sex abuse court case for the first time watchtower has been required by the courts to give a financial statement to the court to assess awards of punitive damages for negligence and (for the first time)malice in non compliance of mandatory reporting laws.. watchtower corp of new york has finances in excess of $2 billion while cc of jw is worth $49 million.

  this doesn't include the pensylvania corp or what overseas branches may have.. pretty healthy bank balance by any standards..

  Two Billion= Fixed assets + cash? Are they having to include all the local KH property values?
